First things first, thanks to all of those who entered my Whole Foods Giveaway! Rachel H, you’re the lucky winner. You’ll be contacted at the email address you provided.

I may have mentioned this before, but I have a pretty awesome job. I’ve been there since February, and while it’s a lot of work, it’s also a lot of fun. A few weeks ago, some co-workers convinced me to cross the ditch and head over to Engine 15 Brewing Company. I know – it’s been open for ages, how have I not been there? I get questions like that all the time: “But you’re the Food Bitch! How have you not been there yet?” There’s a plethora of reasons: either time, money, distance, opportunity – I could go on. Trust me, I wish I could check so many places off my ever-growing list.

I ordered a (904) Weissguy because I love a good hefeweissen. I was impressed – it was delicious. I loved that Engine 15 had a wide variety of beers (50 on tap!) – both their own creations and from other breweries.

And food! They serve food! Good food at that! Don’t get me wrong – I love the other Jacksonville breweries, but I also like to eat when I drink. I ordered the Little Piggy Flatbread because pulled pork.

Holy yum. Bar food at its best!

We also gave the Beer Queso a try because when in Rome, and it was also one of the better quesos I’ve had. Very thick and perfectly beer-cheesy.

While looking at their events calendar, I noticed something really cool. They occasionally have Ladies Nights with $3 Engine 15 pints, $9 bottomless wine and free manicures for the ladies. What’s better than getting your drink on while getting a free mani? Can’t think of much else.

And for those interested in learning to brew beer, they offer brewing sessions. My friend DownerJagFan is a regular at them:

Pretty cool place if you ask me.
