Have you ever had a day where you just want to hang out in bed with a good book and a grilled cheese sandwich? Whenever I feel this way, it’s usually a rainy day and I don’t feel like doing much of anything, so making any sort of elaborate meal is out of the question. The simplicity of a grilled cheese is awesome, and there’s a certain nostalgia factor associated with this comfort food.
I’m just going to come right out and say it: I hate chicken salad. And egg salad. And potato salad. Actually, I think the more precise thing to say is that I hate any sort of “salad” that involves globs of mayo. Ewwww. Just gross.
I’ve been kinda sorta on a diet lately. My boyfriend will be home soon (yay!), and I can be a little bit on the narcissistic side at times (gasp!). So for the past few weeks it’s been lots of lean protein, lots of veggies, and some healthy whole grains here and there. But a girl can only eat chicken breast so many times before she’s ready to fly the coop (too cheesy?).
I love broccoli. Really, I do. Like, I buy the huge frozen bags of it at Costco and kill it within a week. It’s a sick addiction. But then I remind myself that I have to balance the cookies, cupcakes, and brownies with something green. Right? Right.
You know what I love about quiche? It’s acceptable for every meal.
Breakfast? Sure, I’ll make a quiche.
Brunch? Quiche, it is!
Lunch? Quiche sounds lovely.
Dinner? Man, I could go for some quiche.
How is it November already? Granted, I’m thrilled because that means cooler weather & the holidays approaching, but this year has FLOWN by. Surely I’m not the only one who feels that way. But really? How on earth is it time for Starbucks to be passing out the red cups?
