After a lot of wishing, hoping & praying, finally the Food Truck scene is emerging in Jacksonville. Evidence? The Jax Truckies - The Jacksonville Food Truck Championships held this past Saturday at Bold City Brewery:


I should’ve actually titled this post “Whomp Whomp” because that would be more descriptive of our experience.
A week or so ago, an announcement of a new Food Truck came across my company’s intranet. I was instantly excited to see that it was TACOS! I gchatted Ashley & we made a date to give it a try.
Corner Taco is owned & operated by Chris Dickerson, who completed the prestigious Chef’s Apprenticeship program at The Cloister Hotel on Sea Island. Needless to say, we drooled over the menu in anticipation over the next week until that magical Thursday finally arrived.

Let me start by saying: God Bless the Food Truck Trend.
There’s only two places within walking distance of my office & they’re both delis. Yeah, they’re both good… But sometimes a girl just needs a little variety.
In the Riverwalk parking next door, various food trucks have taken up shop on specific days of the week. Wednesdays just happen to be Monroe’s BBQ Day. I’d had Monroe’s before when we took a client for lunch (we’re classy like that), but I’d yet to try the Food Truck option.
& today, I didn’t want what I brought for lunch. So I headed down the elevator & out the door:
