Avondale’s The Fox Restaurant is one of those places I’ve walked by a million times and always thought, “Man, I need to try that one.” I add it to my mental list, and it gets lost in a blackhole (this happens a lot with restaurants). I always seem to forget about it!
An impromptu Twitter breakfast led me there a few weekends ago. We got there early (think 8:30ish) and were immediately seated. I immediately liked that the options of the menu – it wasn’t just huge breakfast after huge breakfast like so many other places. Since I wasn’t in the mood for a lot of food, I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit.
Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Any big plans for the game? We’re headed to a friend’s for a cookout and some beer drinkin’ (shocking, I know). Since the Jaguars aren’t playing, who do you have your money on? I’m going with the 49ers because we all know I have a massive love affair with San Francisco. Plus I think it’d be awesome for them to win since the Giants won the World Series this season too. Save me, San Francisco (is that my catch phrase yet?).
Anyway…. You know what else I have a massive love affair with?
Breakfast. And when we woke up
at 7:30 am SUPER DUPER early this morning, I knew we could beat the crowd at Metro Diner. I’ve been a few times, but I never remember to bring my camera. This morning, I was awake enough to grab it. We both stared at the menu for a while unsure of what to order – it all sounded so good. I debated between Biscuits and Gravy, Chicken and Waffles, and the Bissell Breakfast. As soon as he heard that Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict was a special, he was sold.
Hi there. Happy Not-Monday.
We went to the Universal theme parks in Orlando this past weekend. It was a blast and a half. The weather wasn’t too cold nor was it too warm. It was the Goldilocks of theme park weather. I totally geeked out over The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. And The Hulk? Still my favorite roller coaster, but more on that another time.
Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I continued to fight my sinuses, but other than that, mine was pretty nice. Friday night I got to see an old friend and her husband. Saturday was spent seeing Gangster Squad (it was meh but at least it had Ryan Gosling) and spending time with my love. Sunday? Well Sunday started out with pancakes.
I think I did it again…
No, I’m not trying to make you believe we’re more than just friends. I swear.
It might seem like a crush, but I am serious about pumpkin. Pumpkin Cinnamon rolls that is.
Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.
It’s been a bazillion days since my last confession… But then again, I’m not Catholic. I’m just the kind of person that puts bacon in cinnamon rolls. I’ve been told that makes me the Devil.
