My 5 Favorite Drinks

Hello, Friday. It’s been a long week. The kinda week where you think to yourself, “I could use a drink” pretty much every night. I hate those weeks. If it wasn’t one thing, it was another. Car problems. Lots going on at work. Tired. Cranky. Unmotivated. Yeah. Not feeling it.

But at least it’s Friday. Come 3 o’clock, I’ll be Orlando-bound for a flight to San Francisco (yes, again). & when I get on that plane, you better believe I’ll be ordering a cocktail. But until then, I can just think about My 5 Favorite Drinks:

1) Guinness

In case you didn’t know, I was kind of obsessed with Guinness last summer in Dublin. I remember in college, the boys would order Guiness & I’d be all “OMG EWW! GUINNESS IS GROSS!” Now? Yeah. It’s pretty much my favorite beer.

San Francisco, Part II

My last day in San Francisco was definitely bittersweet. I’d had so much fun & I knew I didn’t want it to come to an end. Everything about the trip had been perfect – especially the weather. San Francisco is beautiful & it definitely holds a very special place in my heart.

Hi, my name is Devon & this is the story of how I ate & drank my way through San Francisco.

My trip was awesome. It really was everything I hoped it could be & so much more. I was a little stressed out when my layover in Chicago was cut incredibly short & I found myself running to my next flight. I hardly ever check bags when I fly & this is exactly why. I remember specifically saying before I left that I didn’t want to check a bag because I didn’t want it to get lost. I mean, when I went to Europe last summer? Not a single checked bag. But this time I decided to take my chances & check a bag.

Lemonade Martini with Frozen Blueberries

I know it’s May, but it’s like a bazillion degrees outside. Little known fact about me: I hate the heat. I’d die happy if it never got warmer than 80 degrees ever again (unless I’m on a beach vacation.. then 85 is acceptable). I’m not sure why I live in Florida still. I mean, it’s hot most of the year here & that makes me cranky.

Champagne Cupcakes with Mimosa Buttercream

Yesterday was pretty great. It was just one of those days where everything went my way. Jessica, Caron & I were featured in The Florida Times Union reviewing our favorite foods at Riverside Arts Market (check it out! RAM’s food is amazing). I was in a fabulous mood & good things were happening to me. In fact, it was so great that it involved stopping by Publix on the way home for a bottle of bubbly. Which quickly got the wheels turning in my head.
